Kirsty gained her MBChB from the University of Auckland in 2002. She has worked in Auckland for three of the past four years, spending 2004 at Sydney's RPA Hospital. She has recently spent 15 months working in Middlemore and Auckland's Emergency Departments, and is very keen to work in General Practice. 

She is married and has particular interests in women's health and preventative health.
