Privacy Statement

One of this Medical Centre's strengths is our respect for your privacy.  It has taken us many years to implement a '"web presence" mainly because we felt that the technology to guarantee privacy and security were not sufficient to this purpose prevously.  None of the information in patient clinical files is held on a computer accessible to the internet.  When electronic communication is required between our surgery and health agencies no personally identifiable information is given and such information is in accordance with the Privacy Act.

Marsden Medical Ltd. is the sole owner of any information collected on our site or for subscription / registration purposes, including all customer and billing contact information. Usernames, passwords, and IP ranges collected for the purpose of site access authentication are held in the strictest confidence. We will not sell, share, or distribute this information in any way, or use it for any other purpose than for site access authentication.

Cookies
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s hard drive containing information about the user. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site. Once the user closes their browser, the cookie simply terminates. Cookies ARE required for certain parts of the Marsden Medical web site to function correctly, in particular to use some of the on-line tools and payment technology in the clients only accessible part of the site.

Log Files
Log files are generated by the ISP that hosts the Marsden Marsden Web site. These log files contain information about the users that access the site, including IP addresses and basic demographic information. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.

Sharing
We share no data or information with any of our partners or advertisers.

This Web site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that Marsden Medical Ltd. is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this Web site.

Tell-A-Friend
If a user elects to use our referral service for informing a friend about our site, we ask them for the friend’s name and email address. Marsden Medical Ltd. will automatically send the friend a one-time email inviting them to visit the site. Marsden Medical Ltd. sends the email immediately, and does not store the name or email information.

Security
Marsden Medical Ltd. does consider some of the data transmitted on the Web site to be confidential, so do encourage users to transmit data in a secure fashion (SSL) and links are appropriately provided . We encourage you not to send any confidential information on e-mails unless you are using encryption technology.  Ordinary e-mails are appropriate for information that you would not mind putting on a postcard and dropping into a postbox!  For this reason Marsden Medical suggests standard e-mail should not be used for sensitive or confidential material. E-mail Correspondence
Marsden Medical Ltd. does not store any personal information about its non-subscribing users. Non-subscribing users will never receive any e-mail correspondence from us unless they e-mail us directly and we send an e-mail response back.

As a general rule Marsden Medical strongly recommends to never give out the following information in an email:

Email and password combination

Credit card, bank account, or any PIN number

National Patient index number or driver's license number
